Steve Janke founded Semper Forward, and his conviction is the foundation everything here is built on. A U.S. Marine Corps veteran who came up as a dairy farmer in Wisconsin, Steve spent his life in service — first to his country, then to the brothers and sisters who served alongside him.
He pioneered a nationally recognized model for recruiting transitioning military talent, beginning with Mission Wisconsin, the predecessor program to Semper Forward and the nation's first for-profit talent-attraction business focused on transitioning service members. He believed, fiercely, that veterans, service members, and military spouses deserved access to opportunity without barriers.
Steve was a force of nature and an inspiration to everyone he met — someone who cared deeply and showed up fully. We are passionate about carrying his mission onward: helping the military community find their next mission, and honoring his love for service members and for the great state of Wisconsin in everything we do.
