Responsibilities
Strategic Legal Counsel &
Executive Advisory
Act as a legal business partner to senior leadership, delivering
high-level legal advice and supporting decisions involving compliance,
litigation, and operational execution in Mexico.
Policy Leadership & Legal
Risk Governance
Lead the local adaptation and enforcement of global legal policies.
Proactively identify regulatory changes, perform risk analyses, and guide
mitigation efforts in collaboration with key stakeholders.
Cross-Functional Legal
Integration
Drive legal alignment across HR, Compliance, Finance, Tax, and Procurement
functions. Embed legal frameworks into operational strategies to ensure
compliance and support cross-departmental initiatives.
Government & Regulatory
Affairs Leadership
Manage regulatory compliance and governmental relationships. Serve as the
face of the company to regulatory bodies and lead legal strategy for
inspections, permits, and official inquiries.
Regional Contracting and
Commercial Legal Oversight
Oversee commercial agreement negotiations across the LATAM region,
ensuring contract integrity, risk minimization, and alignment with
corporate legal standards.
Legal Team Mentorship and
External Counsel Management
Provide leadership to internal legal staff and oversee performance of
external legal advisors, ensuring quality, responsiveness, and budget
control.
Crisis Management &
Investigations
Lead legal support during critical situations including internal
investigations, compliance issues, or regulatory actions. Advise
leadership on resolution and communication strategy.
Change Management & Legal
Innovation
Champion efficiency in legal processes by leveraging technology and best
practices. Maintain a culture of continuous improvement in legal
operations.
Skills/Requirements
Qualifications
Licensed Law degree holder (Mexico)
7-12 years of experience in
international corporate law, preferably with both law firm and in-house
roles supporting multinational operations.
Strong track record in commercial
law, regulatory matters, contract negotiation, and legal policy
implementation. Still, be able to oversee labor and tax matters.
Fluency in English is essential.
Demonstrated leadership in complex,
cross-functional legal issues.
Ability to travel within Mexico as
needed.
Strong interpersonal, advisory, and
negotiation skills.
