Opportunity
Under general supervision, the Butler I will provide professional and personal service to guests and members for the duration of stay. Butlers will perform a variety of services, including but not limited to: loading/unloading luggage, valet, check in/out guests, arrange transportation, managing food and beverage stations, pressing guest garments, assisting with unpacking/packing, and maintaining facility cleanliness.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Guest Arrival
- Open the door and greet guest with “sense of arrival” by using proper greeting and last name.
- Register guests in property management system.
- Escort guests to their rooms with luggage.
- Explain the proper procedure of the door lock system and emergency exits.
- In the guest’s room, hang any garments in the closet and explain the room amenities and place any luggage on a luggage rack. Offer unpacking service, as appropriate.
- Valet guest’s vehicle if requested or give directions to parking areas for self-park.
Provide a copy of bill for review and answer any questions regarding charges. Check the guest outof the property management system.
Remove luggage from guest’s room and bring it to the lobby, (store in storage closet, luggage room if necessary).
Retrieve vehicle as requested.
Assist guests with requested reservations for resort properties.
Set up food service and beverages.
Serve guests and be available to arrange any other services for them.
Clean, maintain kitchen pantry, wash dishes, glassware and re-order food and beverage supplies as needed.
Cashiering Responsibilities
- Handle all money transactions at the front desk. Maintain imprest balance of personal house bank and follow SOP regarding bank procedures.
- Accurately post guest charges.
- Daily cashier closure with reports and settlement.
- Daily deposit of moneys collected during the shift following the standard operating procedures.
Message and Delivery Responsibilities
- Deliver messages from Front Desk or Concierge to guests.
- Deliver newspapers to all guestrooms.
- Deliver amenities or a package to guest’s room.
- Record and conduct live and personal guest room wake-up calls.
- Deliver checkout folios to each guestroom every evening.
- Any other miscellaneous deliveries required by guest or hotel staff.
Work Area Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean work area, including lobby, kitchen, storage closet/cloak room, and exterior building. Maintain furniture arrangement.
Information Responsibilities
- Maintain a working knowledge of all in-house facilities and hours of operation, as well as daily activities and area attractions.
- Provide guests with information and brochures on the Kohler Resort facilities and history.
- Timely response to special requests; inform hotel departments as appropriate.
- Inform supervisor of any guest problems or unusual circumstances.
This position is a full-time position working weekdays and weekends with shifts varying between 7:00 am and 11:00 pm.
Skills/Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license
- Strong verbal and written communications skills is necessary
- Physical requirements include: walking, standing for extended periods, bending, reaching and frequently lifting up to 50 pounds
- Some previous experience in guest services preferred
- Work hours will frequently include weekends and holidays and occasionally include overnight shifts

The hourly range for this position is $13.35 - $20.05. The specific hourly rate offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including candidate's education and work location.
