Opportunity
The Cafe Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the prepared foods department in a corporate cafe setting, ensuring exceptional product quality, food safety, and customer satisfaction. This role is responsible for managing kitchen staff, coordinating production schedules, maintaining inventory, and driving innovation in culinary offerings that reflect the store’s premium standards.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Team Leadership and Development
- Manage daily operations of the cafe production, prepared foods, kitchen staff
- Recruit, train, lead and develop a team of production associates, ensuring high performance and engagement
- Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and visual appeal
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performance team culture
- Act in the capacity of store leaders as needed and serve as a member of the leadership team
Production Oversight
- Schedule staff to meet production needs while controlling labor costs
- Plan and execute daily food production, menu curation
- Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portioning across all offerings
- Monitor production timelines to meet peak demand periods and minimize waste
- Resolve customer inquiries and complaints with professionalism and care
Inventory Management and Cost Control
- Manage ordering, receiving, and storage of ingredients and supplies
- Monitor department sales, shrink, and labor and accuracy of pricing and signage
- Collaborate with vendors to source premium ingredients at optimal cost
Quality, Compliance, and Safety
- Enforce food safety standards and sanitation protocols in accordance with local health regulations
- Conduct regular quality checks and taste tests
- Maintain documentation for audits and regulatory compliance with labeling, allergen, and nutritional guidelines
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and company standards
Innovation and Menu Development
- Partner with culinary leadership to develop seasonal menus and new product lines
- Stay current with food trends, seasonal shifts, and customer preferences
- Contribute to merchandising strategies for prepared foods
Will complete all duties and requests as assigned by management
This is a full-time position working weekdays and weekends. Shifts vary between 6:00 am and 5:00 pm.
Skills/Requirements
- Highschool diploma or equivalent required
- Must be 21 years old and have ability to obtain a liquor license, ServSafe certification, and have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- 3+ years of experience in kitchen, restaurant, or food production with leadership experience required
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Strong knowledge of culinary terms and practices as well as ability to create a menu and recipe
- Ability to lead by example and motivate a team
- Calm under pressure with excellent problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency with POS systems and inventory management tools as well as basic reporting tools
- Working knowledge of technology, computers, and software (e.g., Excell, word, outlook)
- Passion for food, hospitality, and creating memorable customer experiences as well as customer service and team development
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs, stand, and walk for long periods of time
- Flexible availability, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays

The hourly range for this position is $23.45 - $29.30. The specific hourly rate offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including candidate's education and work location.
