Opportunity
The Market Catering Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the execution of all catering operations, ensuring that every event and order reflects the store’s premium standards for quality, presentation, and service. This role supports the Food and Beverage Supervisor by supervising staff, maintaining food safety standards, and organizing all catering events. This role works closely with the culinary, bakery, and deli teams to deliver exceptional experiences for customers, whether for corporate events, private gatherings, or in-store functions.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Event Coordination and Customer Service
- Serve as the primary point of contact for catering clients
- Consult with customers to understand event needs, dietary preferences, and presentation expectations
- Provide personalized recommendations and ensure timely communication throughout the process
Order Management and Execution
- Oversee the preparation, packaging, and delivery of catering orders
- Ensure all items meet quality, freshness, and presentation standards
- Coordinate logistics for on-site and off-site events, including staffing and setup
Team Leadership and Collaboration
- Lead catering staff and delegate tasks to ensure smooth operations
- Collaborate with deli, bakery, and prepared foods teams to fulfill orders
- Train team members on catering procedures, customer service, and food safety
Inventory and Planning
- Monitor inventory of catering supplies and ingredients
- Assist with ordering specialty items based on upcoming events
- Track usages and adjust production to minimize waste and maximize efficiency
Food Safety and Compliance
- Ensure all catering operations comply with food safety regulations and store policies
- Maintain proper documentation for temperature logs, sanitization, and allergen labeling
- Enforce cleanliness and safety standards in prep and packaging areas
Marketing and Growth Support
- Assist with promoting catering service through in-store signage, tastings, and seasonal campaigns
- Provide feedback on customer preferences and trends to improve offerings
- Collaboration and Communication
- Communicate effectively with team members and leadership
- Act as MOD on as needed rotational basis and follow responsibilities and expectations as set in the MOD SOP
Will complete all duties and requests as assigned by management
This is a full-time position working both weekdays and weekends. Shifts vary between 5:30 am and 9:00 pm.
Skills/Requirements
- Highschool diploma or equivalency required
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
- 2+ years of catering, food service, or hospitality experience, with 1+ years leadership responsibilities preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to lead by example and maintain high standards
- Ability to operate slicers, scales, and other equipment safely
- Ability to use POS systems and comfortable with cash handling
- Basic computer skills and software knowledge (e.g., Word, Outlook, Excell) required
- Ability to manage multiple orders and deadlines with attention to detail
- ServSafe certification or equivalent required, can obtain upon hire
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs, bend, twist, walk and stand for extended periods of time
- Flexible availability, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays

The hourly range for this position is $18.80 - $28.20. The specific hourly rate offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including candidate's education and work location.
