Manager - Kohler Gas Station

Opportunity
This position is responsible for the successful
operation of the Kohler Gas Station. It is responsible for ensuring the services, programs, physical
properties and financial results reflect the quality standards and objectives
established for the Kohler Hospitality businesses.
Facility encompasses 1,950 square
feet convenience store, eight pump gas station, and car wash.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Determine and oversee the strategic business vision and goals of the gas station.
- Develop business as leader in industry.
Improve operating income as a percent of net sales each year through growth in sales and control of costs and expenses. - Ensure high-quality standards are maintained in service, goods and products, personnel and physical property.
- Develop, recommend, and oversee implementation of marketing, strategic and manpower plans for the business. Evaluate and adjust plans to ensure objectives are met.
- Implement, evaluate, and maintain standard operating procedures. Ensure the accuracy of all reports and controlling documents required by Kohler Co.
- Analyze sale, order merchandise and manage inventory levels to avoid over stock and out- of-stock conditions
- Manage pricing strategy to maximize sales and gross profit dollars, while controlling expenses and protecting company assets. (Fuel, car wash, and C-Store inventory)
- Serve in a public relations capacity when appropriate.Serve as a visible resource for guests and the local community. Act as liaison between outside contacts, professional staff, and Communications.
- Interact with other Hospitality staff to ensure synergy in business operations.
- Develop awareness and continually strive to be aware of changing trends. Remain informed on consumer purchasing trends, demographics, competition and markets. Implement plans to deal with change.
- Recommend policies and pricing structures. Ensure policies are implemented and monitored so they are meeting the needs of the business, members, and customers.
- Supervise the planning and completion of projects to maintain, upgrade or repair the physical properties
- Supervise the hiring, scheduling and evaluating and discipline of staff. Ensure fair and legal employment practices are followed. Ensure safe work practices are developed and maintained.
- Oversee the growth, development and success of the quality and safety programs within the facility.
- Supervise the orientation, training, and performance of associates. Ensure educational opportunities are provided for all levels with the intent of retaining and developing staff.
- Oversee all communications with associates, members, customers, and guests. Ensure educational opportunities are provided for all levels.
- Be an active participant in facility programs and services.
- Contribute toward the overall success of the Hospitality Group as directed.
Skills/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality Management, Retail Management or related field preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 years of progressive leadership experience in convenience retail, fuel operations, grocery, hospitality, or multi-unit retail environments.
- Must possess a WI Class A/B UST ( Underground Storage Tank) Operator Certification from a WI DATCP- approved program or shall obtain said certification within thirty (30) days of the start of employment.
- Strong background in guest/customer experience leadership, ideally in hospitality or premium retail.
- Familiarity with gas station and convenience store operations, accounting and financial reporting preferred.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends, or holidays as business needs require.
- Proficiency using business systems, POS platforms, inventory management systems, and Microsoft Office software.
- Highly self‑directed, with proven ability to operate independently while meeting strategic organizational objectives.

The salary range for this position is $68,000 - $103,300. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation.
