About the Role
We are currently looking for a Fitness Attendant to join our fitness team on a permanent basis. The Fitness Centre at the Old Course Hotel offers the ideal wellness environment. Our dedicated team of fitness professionals can help fulfil personal needs, catering to all levels of expertise, experience and fitness levels.
The Fitness Attendant will ensure a safe, clean and well-maintained environment for Fitness members, hotel guests and day visitors.
The Fitness Attendant will be in a varied role consisting mainly of Attendant duties as well as Reception and Fitness instructor duties.
Your responsibilities will include;
Attendant Duties
- Ensure before the Fitness Centre is open that all areas are clean, tidy and ready to welcome users. Sauna turned on and dolphin, if out, stored away correctly.
- Check and clean tables and chairs in the lounge area ensuring cushions are well plumped.
- Wipe down all surfaces that occupants will have contact with including tables, door handles, push plates, chairs, light switches.
- Maintain and check the swimming pool and sauna floor are clean, tidy and free from water.
- Move any equipment back to the storage boxes whilst wiping down the metal handrails on the pool and hot tub.
- Newspapers and magazines are stacked neatly.
- Maintain and check the gym is clean and tidy with plenty of white and grey towels available. Ensure all cleaning spray bottles are full and mirrors and floors are clean.
- Maintain and check all changing rooms are clean and tidy. Showers are clean and have a good level in the amenity bottles.
- Toilets are clean and have 2 toilet rolls in each cubicle.
- Launder all fitness linen, roll and store. Ensure all changing rooms are replenished with neatly rolled towels.
- Collaborating with other departments and colleagues to ensure the smooth operation of the Fitness Centre. Communicating effectively with colleagues and customers, ensuring accurate information is delivered.
Reception Duties
- Cover reception breaks when required.
- Answer all telephone calls, emails and App enquires promptly and professionally.
- Deal with all guests, members and day guest requests at the desk.
- Ensure area is clean and tidy whilst displaying a 5* environment.
- Ensure all members and guests are recorded as arrived on Resort Suite.
- Check all membership cards before handing over a locker key.
- Check all guests in prior to using the facility whilst highlighting the PAR-Q on desk.
Gymnasium Duties
- Fitness inductions when required.
- Demonstrate fitness equipment and exercises if necessary.
- Take Fitness classes if required.
To be successful in this role you will have the following qualities and experience:
- Level 2 or equivalent in Gym Instructor.
- Computer literate.
- Good time management including start and finish times.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Energetic and positive attitude.
- Flexible approach to the job and be able to work a variety of hours including evenings and weekends.
Hours
32 hours per week, 4 days per week
Salary
£21,349.12 per annum
