Job Summary
As a Continuous Improvement Engineer, you will lead and support initiatives that drive operational excellence across manufacturing processes. You will apply lean methodologies, data-driven analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to identify inefficiencies, reduce waste, and improve quality, cost, and delivery performance.
This role requires a proactive mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to influence change across teams.
Key Responsibilities
As a member of the Technical Team and the site lead for Continuous Improvement, you will:
- Own the Continuous Improvement yearly roadmap for the Hull site, effectively project managing various initiatives and project leaders.
- Lead and support CI projects using Lean, Six Sigma, and Value Engineering tools.
- Facilitate root cause analysis and problem-solving sessions to address process inefficiencies and quality issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement sustainable improvements in manufacturing, assembly, and testing.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to CI plans and delivery.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives through process optimisation and waste elimination.
- Provide technical support and coaching to production teams to embed a culture of continuous improvement.
- Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project success.

Experience
Required
- Strong background in Manufacturing Engineering and Continuous Improvement.
- Experience gained through apprenticeship or higher education (e.g., HNC, degree, or master’s in a relevant discipline).
- High level of health and safety understanding and capability.
Desirable
- Knowledge of vacuum/thermoforming, machining, and non-ferrous casting processes.
- Experience with SCADA and other manufacturing systems.
- Formal lean training (e.g., Six Sigma).
- Strong capability with Microsoft Office, ERP systems (preferably SAP), and tools such as Power Automate and Power BI.
Travel Requirements
The role will be predominantly based at our Hull site but will require occasional travel to our other UK sites and very occasional international travel.
