Learning is not a support function at the Old Course Hotel — it’s how we create exceptional associate and guest experiences.
This role owns the learning experience of our people, from day one through to future leader. As our L&D Co‑ordinator, you’ll help shape how associates learn on the job, feel welcomed from their first shift, and grow careers in hospitality.
Working closely with the Director of Human Resources, Heads of Department and the wider HR team, you’ll deliver practical, on‑the‑floor learning that builds confidence, capability and a standout service culture across the Resort.
What You’ll Own (Relationships & Collaboration)
- Reporting line: Director – Human Resources
- Your key partners: HR team, Heads of Department and leaders across Old Course Hotel
- Your day‑to‑day: building supportive, inclusive relationships with associates at all levels

- Be a visible HOME ambassador — living and championing Heart, One Team, Make Memories and Empower
- Weave HOME values into onboarding, apprenticeships and development
- Create and refresh HOME learning content that is practical and easy to access
- Support recognition aligned to HOME values
Learning Experience & Engagement
- Bring the learning calendar to life through engaging sessions and communications
- Responsible for the Training Champions Programme
- Responsible for our LMS (Mapal) platform
- Responsible for the on-boarding of all new starts through the Company Induction
- Keep learning records accurate and compliant
- Turn operational needs into practical learning
- Deliver blended learning that works around shifts
- Support learning initiatives end‑to‑end
What Success Looks Like (First 12 Months)
- New associates feel confident and ready for service
- Learning is visible, relevant and accessible
- Managers are supported to develop their teams
- First cohort completes the Leader: Foundations Workbook
- Training Champions are active with L&D support in their departments
- Clear pathways support progression and retention
