Summary
The Sales and Use Tax Analyst works closely with the Tax Team to support monthly compliance activities for Sales and Use Tax processes. This role is responsible for preparing monthly returns, reconciling data, maintaining workpapers, processing credits, updating systems, and conducting tax research. The position requires a detail-oriented mindset and a strong interest in specializing in tax functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and reconcile monthly Sales and Use Tax returns for multiple legal entities.
- Troubleshoot online filings and payment issues.
- Assist with onboarding new legal entities to tax engines and preparation software.
- Document and enhance Sales and Use Tax processes.
- Research and respond to questions from non-tax personnel.
- Perform other duties as assigned, in compliance with company policies and standards.
- Adapt to new situations, people, culture, and technology, demonstrating curiosity and a willingness to learn.
- Challenge the status quo and seek continuous improvement aligned with business objectives.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s or Associate's degree in Tax, Accounting, Finance, or Information Technology (required).
Experience
- At least one year of relevant experience in accounting, tax, or IT.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, SharePoint, Word) and intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (required).
- Familiarity with CCH AnswerConnect (Wolters Kluwer), Vertex Returns suite, and transactional tax processes (preferred).

- Ability to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual deadlines with tight turnaround times.
- Strong multitasking skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow written documentation.
