The Role
As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will be a key member of our engineering team, playing a crucial role in the design and implementation of scalable and reliable cloud-based solutions to support our product offerings. Your expertise in cloud infrastructure will be instrumental in driving technical excellence across the team.
This role will ideally work on-site in the Green Bay, WI; may consider remote candidates based on relevance of candidate experience.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
What You'll Do
Technical Leadership:
- Provide technical leadership within the engineering team.
- Collaborate to set and enforce coding standards, best practices, and ensure code quality.
Development:
- Contribute to and lead design, development, maintenance, and implementation of complex features.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
Architectural Design:
- Contribute to architectural decisions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability of systems.
Technical Excellence:
- Contribute to coding standards and best practices within the engineering team.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure high-quality, maintainable code.
- Contribute to optimization and refactoring of code to address performance bottlenecks and improve system efficiency.
- Tackle challenging technical problems with a focus on delivering effective and efficient solutions.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and optimize system performance.
- Participate in our on-call rotation and support production systems, embracing a shared ownership model.
Innovation:
- Stay abreast of industry trends, evaluate emerging technologies, and advocate for their adoption when appropriate.
- Contribute to continuous improvement in processes and tools.

QUALIFICATIONS
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field involving coding (e.g., physics or mathematics), or equivalent technical experience.
- 5+ years as a cloud engineer, with a focus on designing and implementing scalable cloud solutions.
- Experience in designing and implementing scalable and high-performance public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Knowledge of networking, security, and compliance principles in cloud environments.
- Proficiency with modern infrastructure such as code technologies and containerization technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform. Terraform knowledge and experience required.
- Knowledge of and experience with microservices architecture.
- Proficient scripting and automation skills (e.g., Python, Bash).
- Experience with software development methodologies including Agile, Kanban, and Scrum.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate complex technical challenges.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred:
- Relevant certifications such as Google Professional Cloud Architect, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, etc.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD).
- Prior experience in a product focused technology team desired.
- Experience in guiding engineering teams and influencing technical decisions.
