KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accountable for the Regional Procurement management of the certain Logistics and Supply Chain categories for LATAM. Responsible for certain aspects of the regional spending for the category including leading and executing all competitive events and leading the regional execution of all Global Strategies for the category. Key categories include Freight Forwarding, Ocean Freight, Customs Brokerage, Pallets and Inbound Freight.
- Will also provide support for warehouse and transportation activities as needed.
- Leads the process of regional supply market understanding, regional search, selection and contract strategy alignment for the category. Develop a deep level of understanding of the regional supply base, and develop and lead the regional strategy, regional execution to drive cost, innovation, risk management and other value-added elements of supplier relationships.
- Manages the strategic Relationship Management process (SRM) with suppliers in the region to assure a preferred status in the presentation of new technologies and opportunities, while creating an advantaged cost position for SCJ. This position is accountable to support creating a strategic advantage for SCJ in this critically important regional spend.
- Works in partnership with the regional Logistics and Supply Chain organization to ensure contingency plans exist, an understanding of alternate supply sources is developed, and a balanced risk approach to business awards is an achieved to maintain a healthy level of mutual importance with the supplier, and minimize instances of sole sourcing or where SCJ represents more than 50% of suppliers revenue
- Is a key point of accountability with senior stakeholders and Finance for the regional strategy execution and results delivery for the assigned categories within the Logistics and Supply Chain spend in the region.
- Assist with development and implementation of Global Logistics and Supply Chain Procurement strategies and lead cross functional regional teams to unlock cost savings (and mitigate inflation) value, mitigate risk, and contribute to increased Delivered Profit and Operating Profit (DP and OP).
- Own and lead the regional execution of procurement strategies.
- Lead through a matrix structure the relevant regional organizations to ensure execution and flawless delivery of the strategies.
- Demonstrate a high-level depth of understanding of the regional supply market for the spend and is the subject matter expert for cross functional stakeholders.
- Own and maintain the detailed cost build up (own development of clean sheet and Total Cost of Ownership tools) and drivers for the regional spend to enable fact-based negotiations.
- Leverage regional and global sources of supply to create credible competition, flexibility and best cost position.
- Lead the negotiation strategy development and execution for the regional spending.
- Aligning with the global contract strategy for the expenditure.
- Accountable for regional delivery of the spend category, cost saving and progress against strategy.
- Is a point of accountability with senior business and functional stakeholders, including Finance, for the execution of the regional strategy and results delivery for the regional expenditure.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING
- Education: BS Degree
- Five plus years of business experience in a relevant business function, with proven track record
- Regional experience and strong cross-cultural awareness and leadership capability
- Ability to interface with multiple levels of an organization internally and externally
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to develop regional business cases and strategic business plans
- Demonstrated skills (at regional level) include organizational communication and networking ability, strategic thinking, leadership, strong influencing skills, high level communication, negotiations, and problem analysis
- Strong English Language Skills. Both Spanish and Portuguese Language Skills also preferred
PREFERRED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS
- 5 Plus years of relevant business experience in Logistics and Supply Chain
- Purchasing certifications
- Proven track record of cross functional collaboration
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Position is Full-Time, regular business hours, Monday-Friday
- Office work environment: Remote work available once a week for eligible employees
- Travel up to 30%
- This position is eligible for domestic relocation
