Maintenance Manager

Opportunity
BASIC FUNCTION
To
direct the maintenance function this position will be responsible for all
objectives established by the Plant Manager, achieve maximum plant equipment
up-time, implement TPM (Total Predictive Maintenance) philosophy including
preventative maintenance, measure equipment capability, lead improvements
through KOS, and administer a safe work environment. Develop and manage the PLC/hydraulic draw
press equipment developed by European OEM’s, the high temperature-annealing
furnace, complex safety features of disassociated ammonia production, and
washer/wastewater treatment systems of this 24/7 operation in Reynosa Mexico.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide leadership and direction for all maintenance department activities including development of budgets, strategic plan contribution at staff level, and implementation of Kohler initiatives.
Responsible for training, directing, evaluating those individuals to maintain all facilities and equipment.
Identify, select, and manage outside contractors assigned equipment installation or maintenance work. Attract and hire skilled technical personnel capable of diagnostic troubleshooting and repair.
Establish a TPM system including equipment preventative maintenance programs with MP2, set capability parameters/inspections within the machines specifications, set data standard equivalent or in conjunction with six sigma. Participate in MP2 installation activities with other PA organizations.
Establish spare part inventory reordering min. and max, component specification, and substitution decisions. Support purchasing.
KOS project identification, direction, and result delivery for the area to support budget commitment.
Partner with engineering department in process problem solving and implementation of long-term capability or reliability improvements on equipment.
Negotiate equipment inspections with Manufacturing Manager, plan plant shutdown periods to perform equipment overhauls, and work with all organization (outside) on equipment layout/installation.
Define training and skill assessment for department
personnel and implement developmental objectives with critical performance
measures. Identify specific skill needs in advance of new technology e.g.
PLC’s, hydraulic/pneumatic logic control, electronic, natural gas, and power
distribution.
Skills/Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and skills is valid. However, we prefer the following:
Bachelor’s degree in a technical major, a minimum of 7 years of process engineering or equipment maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, with evidence of continued education in technical problem-solving techniques. Minimum of 3 years management experience and ability to travel abroad. Familiarity with TPM practices. Effective written and oral communications skills Spanish required with conversation English capability. Must have computer MS Office (AutoCAD, MP2, SAP a plus), demonstrated budget management, and proven leadership in a competitive- fast paced manufacturing environment.
