Buyer, Inventory & Purchasing Analysis Work Mode Hybrid LocationOnsite at Bristol, PA OpportunityAs an Sr. Buyer, Inventory & Purchasing Analysis this is your unique opportunity to set your mark and live on the leading edge. This position is responsible for the development and ownership of the purchasing for assigned materials & components. Also, it is responsible for overall supplier performance with respect to cost, quality, delivery, service, and innovation. The Sr. Buyer, Inventory & Purchasing Analysis manages supplier relationships and is responsible for supply security and negotiations. This position will prepare and evaluate supplier quotations and services to determine the most competitive solution based upon total cost of ownership. This role will apply experience in a variety of purchasing and supply chain concepts, practices, and procedures. The Sr. Buyer, Inventory & Purchasing Analysis will rely on experience and judgment to resolve problems and communicate effectively while leading complex sourcing projects and supplier performance reviews. Specific Responsibilities Drive the procurement process to secure goods including corrugation, glass, mirrors, aluminum, and metal with both domestic and international vendors. Plan, place and track all Purchase Orders for assigned materials. This includes material set up, analysis of past usage/ committed orders, PO placement, shipping/expediting, & inventory management. Under minimal guidance, gathers and interprets Supply Chain data to forecast when materials will be needed based on vendor lead-time and transportation. Work with international freight partners to ensure on time delivery of full containers, LCL, and air freight shipments. Convert demands (sales forecasts, customer orders, commercial projects etc.) into planned purchase orders by SKU to assure that materials are available to meet the needs of Robern’s customers in a cost-effective matter. Uses analytical and quantitative methods to understand, predict, and enhance supply chain processes. Responsible for assembling data, analyzing performance, identifying problems, and developing recommendations which support supply chain planning and operations. Develop and maintain planning data (safety stock, lead times, minimum and maximum inventory levels, etc.) for assigned vendors and SKUs. Perform analysis of responsible vendors’ financial spend to ensure competitiveness to limit risk for Robern. Drive supplier performance in cost improvements, quality, delivery, and timely communication. Assist accounts payable on all payment to vendors ensuring correct pricing and goods received quantities match. Maintain required records such as quotes, price lists, tooling, supplier correspondence, contracts, and purchasing metric dashboards. Responsible for supplier selection utilizing cross-functional input and following self-derived negotiations strategy and total cost analysis. Lead complex sourcing and/or cost reduction projects and supplier performance reviews. Interface with business leaders to develop long-term vendor contractual requirements, then conduct negotiations and leads approval process with minimal supervision. Question & analyze results, investigate issues, and identify root causes of supply chain issues.Skills/Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Operations or Supply Chain Management. At least 3-5 years of purchasing experience. At least 2 years of International and Import experience required. SAP system experience a plus. A wide degree of creativity, flexibility, and ability to operate autonomously is required. Exhibit skills in developing & managing contingency plans, risk factors, and interdependencies. Also exhibit ability to build detailed project plans, including time, resource requirements, budget, and deliverables. Exhibit a general understanding of computer network technology & proficiency in Excel. Skill Preferences Ability to construct and manage complex, sophisticated SKU sets, create unique terms & conditions for legal review, and develop negotiation strategies. Ability to gain an understanding of domestic and international business law, importation rules and regulations, tariffs, duties, etc. and working knowledge of intellectual property. Capable of reviewing engineering construction drawings and details and the ability to gain high level technical knowledge of Robern’s materials and components as needed. Demonstrate unaided capture/creation of a project scope, achievement of original project milestones and timeframes with the New Product Development team. Experience with developing cross-functional area relationships and participating on cross-functional teams to achieve common goal. Take an active role in the supporting team and developing the action plan. Contribute to positive morale within a team. Ability to work in fast paced environment with a complex SKU and vendor set. Experience in working with Kanbans and sales order history to make correct inventory assumptions and buys. The salary range for this position is $74,000 - $93,500. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location.
