Title Payroll Specialist Req ID 4115 City, State Madison, WI Reports to Payroll Manager Classification Remote Hybrid #LI-Hybrid Summary The Payroll Specialist is responsible for accurately processing the hourly weekly payroll in accordance with accounting best practices. This position communicates directly with employees, supervisors, managers, and other departments within the company. This position will work 7 00 AM to 3 30 PM. Hours may vary as needed. Hybrid work schedule (50% remote/50% onsite at our Westfield, WI Corporate location). Essential Functions Ensures the accurate processing of weekly employee payroll payments. Supports consistency in payroll through the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting such as verification of the 401(k) program, insurance changes, attendance reward programs, garnishments, direct deposit information, deductions, new hire information. Maintains payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes. Required Qualifications Associates Degree in Accounting or related field and a minimum of two years of payroll processing OR five years of prior payroll processing experience preferably in a manufacturing environment. Strong demonstrated working knowledge of accounting payroll principles and practices Able to organize and coordinate work within schedule constraints and handle emergent requirements in a timely manner Strong organizational skills; verbal and written communication skills; analytical mindset and attention to detail Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Preferred Qualifications Prior experience working in the food/manufacturing industry is helpful Knowledge of SAP HR/Payroll software Supervisory Responsibility This role will not have any supervisory expectations. Work Environment Office environment. Subject to extended periods of sitting, working on PC and talking on telephone. Physical Demands Position will include extensive sitting.
