pecial Events Manager - Destination Kohler Work Mode Onsite LocationKohler, WI Opportunity Conceive, design, and execute events, aligned with the established brand standards, to grow the Leisure Guest segment in room night consumption and revenue contributions for Destination Kohler (DK) as well as provide a unique story to tell through resort marketing. Special events will generate resort traffic and ancillary DK business revenue through effective research, planning and strategic execution. Special events will operate within budget parameters for all events. Specific Responsibilities Achieve room night goals and event profitability plans as established by the Manager – Leisure Sales. Each event shall be supported with research, effective programming, and an implementation plan under the guidance of Manager – Leisure Sales. Manage individual events and overall event marketing channel, Profit and Loss and Budget Statements. Responsible for the timely development and implementation of financial feasibility as well as analysis and ad hoc reporting from event launch through event execution. Integrate Plan, Actual and Prior Year in financial and performance analysis. Project Management - Ensure timelines, tactics and resources are aligned to ensure maximum effectiveness to support the overall project strategy. Timely critique and evaluation of event for use in feasibility and refinement of future events. Develop and negotiate Special Event contracts. Examples Talent, Sponsorship, Venues Liaise with the Marketing team to produce sales and marketing support collateral to achieve planned results. Establish a consistent presentation with supporting collateral reflecting established brand standards which represent the resort as one, unified operation. Use tools of the business to record, track and communicate event information across DK Manage departmental expenses to plan. Responsible for performing related duties as assigned by the Manager - Leisure Sales Research and report on emerging behaviors and trends in the industries applicable to our target market. Benchmark the resort’s competitive set of both regionally (local competition) and nationally (other luxury resorts destinations) for event ideas. With a solid understanding of the DK current and target customers, develop programming to target the leisure travel market and niche special interest consumer channels. Utilize all hospitality resources responsibly. Active participation in Manager on Duty program. Skills/Requirements Bachelor’s Degree Required 2+ years’ experience relevant event planning. Sales or marketing experience is a plus. Able to manager others without authority. Demonstrated financial acumen. P & L responsibility desired. Exceptional organization skills Detail oriented High levels of personal accountability and self-structure are required. Positive, focused, professional team-oriented attitude and approach with a strong work ethic and decision-making ability. Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook. The salary range for this position is $60,700 - $75,900. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location.Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
