Description

Bachelor’s Degree in safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or related field; and/or equivalent work experience At least 1-2 years’ relevant experience Understanding of OSHA, federal, and state safety requirements Ability to establish effective and professional relationships with team members throughout the organization Proficient in Microsoft Office Ability to build trust and work collaboratively Excellent organizational skills Capable of communicating at all levels of the organization and providing feedback and recommendations as it relates to a safe work environment Attention to detail, must possess a keen eye for detail and potential risks STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONSASP Certification 2-3 years’ experience in a safety coordinator role, preferably in manufacturing environment Air permitting experience Conduct safety audits within the facility to pinpoint unsafe working conditions, behaviors, practices, and developing sound recommendations for corrections Attend safety walks and inspections to analyze safety risks Educate and train team members on safety standards and expectations Coordinate industrial hygiene testing and implement corrective action, if required Oversee and provide safety-related training that is required to remain in compliance with all applicable regulations Update management on the status of Oshkosh’s safety program through monthly and quarterly reports Liaise with outside organizations in facilitating emergency response planning Assist in training initiatives throughout the team member’s work cycle Inspect facilities, machinery, and equipment to identify and correct potential hazards Lead implementation of the Oshkosh Safety management System at the facility Strengthen and lead the site ergonomics program Organize, plan, and steer the Safety Representative Program to ensure that Oshkosh team members are provided a safe workplace Coordinate with manufacturing and engineering on the design and construction of new equipment, facilities, and processes to ensure safe design Assist in coordinating incident and near miss investigations and ensuring implementation of corrective and preventative measures Other duties, as assigned
